John Bushnell had been sent to Fillmore by Brigham
Young. John and Elizabeth had the first post office and a little
store. Elizabeth kept the books and cooked for the mail carriers.
They
desired
to have a farm of their own where the children could work at
home.
They traded their property in Fillmore for farm land in Meadow,
and were one of the first families to live there.
Abut the children:
John Brockbank Bushnell married Francis Elizabeth Ferguson,
the daughter of Francis Elizabeth Humble, daughter of
Mary Ann Gates Humble.
The 1849 Book of Mormon (possesion of Tom L. Day) belonged to
Mary Ann Gates and was passed down through the Ferguson line
to Velma Bushnell Stott, daughter of Francis Elizabeth Ferguson
and John Brockbank Bushnell.
John Brockbank's brother, Isaac Brockbank, died
at age 18yr 18mo, and was later sealed to Arizona Ferguson, daughter
of Francis Elizabeth Fergson, who had died at age 13 (30 June 1865
- 7 Dec 1878) .
